TRANSIENT: Student-curated exhibition in Colonel By's Pilot Plant Lab
The Department of Visual Arts, in partnership with the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, presents Transient. This contemporary art exhibition will be uniquely located in the Pilot Plant Lab at the University of Ottawa. Transient aims to not only explore, but to engage in a dialogue regarding the complexity and diversity of a future marked by anthropocen-trism. This highly charged term, Anthropocene, describes our current epoch in which the human species has dominated the natural world. By gathering works from eight accomplished contempo-rary artists, Transient explores the complexities of living in the age of the Anthropocene.
Transient will feature works by John Ancheta, Michael Belmore, Carol Howard Donati, David McDougall, Mia Feuer, Sasha Phipps, Uta Riccius, and Anna Williams.
Transient is a one-night, free public exhibition, opening on Friday, December 1, 2017. The opening reception begins at 5:30pm, and the exhibition concludes at 10:00pm. The Pilot Plant Lab is located in room D415, Colonel By Hall (161 Louis Pasteur) at the University of Ottawa.
